Stamped Concrete Sealing – Pricing F.A.Q.

Stamped Concrete Sealing – Pricing F.A.Q.

Why does stamped concrete sealing cost more than basic driveway sealcoating?

We get this question often — and it’s a fair one. The truth is, sealing stamped concrete is an entirely different process than sealing asphalt. Here’s why:

Basic Driveway Sealcoating vs. Stamped Concrete Sealing

Basic Driveway Sealcoating:

  • Usually blacktop (asphalt), sealed with coal tar or asphalt emulsion
  • Quick spray application, minimal prep
  • Materials cost: $0.05–$0.15/sq ft
  • Short lifespan (6–12 months)
  • Often done in bulk

Stamped Concrete Sealing (What We Do):

  • High-end surface, requires prep & skill
  • Full degreasing, power washing, dry prepping before sealing
  • 2 coats of breathable silane/siloxane sealer ($75–$120/gal)
  • Material cost: $0.65–$1.00/sq ft just for product
  • Long-lasting (3–5 years), enhances color & prevents damage
  • Includes anti-slip additive and optional gloss finish

So, Why Does It Cost $2,000+?

For a 1,500 sq ft patio:

  • Sealer materials alone cost ~$1,000–$1,200
  • Prep and application takes 1–2 full days
  • Requires professional-grade equipment and skill
  • Includes insurance, travel, and product warranty

Bottom line: If you’re paying $1/sq ft for stamped concrete sealing, you’re either getting bargain-bin product, no prep, or it’s not actual stamped concrete being sealed.
